Rittal‑CSM is proud to be joining Plymouth’s Armed Forces Day celebrations on the Hoe for the very first time!
As one of the region’s largest advanced manufacturers, we are proud to stand alongside the community in honouring the men and women who serve and protect our country.
This event also holds special significance for us. Many of our colleagues are former service personnel, and several will be volunteering on the day to support our stall and meet visitors. Their leadership, resilience and experience enrich our business, and we are proud to recognise the Armed Forces community that continues to shape our workforce.
Based in Plymouth, Rittal‑CSM delivers world‑class enclosures and IT infrastructure solutions that support the digital systems behind 5G networks and high‑performance computing. Our team has grown from 500 to nearly 1000 people in the past three years, reflecting our continued investment in skilled employment and manufacturing capability across Plymouth and Devon.
Rittal‑CSM’s impact reaches far beyond our own workforce. We work closely with local subcontractors and suppliers, helping to support skilled jobs and strengthen Plymouth’s wider manufacturing community.
People are at the heart of our business. We are committed to creating a workplace where wellbeing, recognition and development come first. Recent initiatives include Mental Health Awareness Week activities, free fruit and refreshments on site, social events, and our “compliment sheets” designed to encourage positivity and peer appreciation. We also host regular company‑wide events such as our Family Fun Day, State of the Nation team‑building day, and celebrations for Employee Appreciation Day and International Women’s and Men’s Days.
A strong focus on lifelong learning underpins our people strategy. We offer apprenticeships, graduate placements and structured internships that provide hands‑on experience and tailored development. This commitment was recognised at the PMG Early Careers Awards, where three Rittal‑CSM apprentices were nominated for Apprentice of the Year, with two receiving Highly Commended status.
Our dedication to excellence was further recognised in 2026 when Rittal-CSM was named Manufacturer of the Year by the Devon Chamber of Commerce: a testament to the hard work, innovation and commitment of our entire team. This award reflects not only our manufacturing capability but also our contribution to the region’s economic growth and skills development.
Sustainability is also an important part of how we operate. We’re continually working to reduce our environmental impact: from choosing lower‑carbon materials to improving energy efficiency across our site and increasing recycling and reuse. As a signatory to the UN Global Compact, we’re committed to responsible, long‑term environmental stewardship.
Visitors to our stall on Armed Forces Day can expect hands‑on STEM activities for families, insights into careers in engineering and manufacturing, and the chance to meet some of the talented people who help drive our mission forward.
We are delighted to support this incredible community event and look forward to celebrating with everyone on the day
