Military Villages

Throughout the day you can visit the individual Military Villages for displays and activities, ask questions and learn more about the Forces. 

Royal Navy

Discover a huge range of dynamic and interactive displays at the Royal Navy village. Navigate your way through a minefield using detection equipment or explore the battlefield ambulance. Sample the culinary delights of the RN caterers and learn about the various types of ammunition - small arms, missiles and torpedoes. Witness a Field Gun demonstration from HMNB Devonport and give the divers in the dive tank a wave or hi-five!

Royal Marines

The Royal Marines village will include an array of military assets including a Raiding Craft. There will be modern up-to-date equipment consisting of clothing, body armour and various weapon systems such as assault rifles, pistols and machine guns, for all to see and handle under supervision.

The Royal Marines Association will also be located within the village. Please bring cash for the shop, as the WIFI isn’t reliable during such a busy event, for card payments.

British Army

The Army Village will have lots of equipment and hands-on activities. 29 Commando Regt RA will have vehicles, weapons display, surveillance capabilities, a climbing wall and much more.


165 Port and Maritime Regiment RLC will have their recruitment gazebo, military equipment, remote control vehicles and plant vehicles. Plus their Inflatable Gemini (Whiskey) boat with outboard motor and Combi v-van. There will be an information stand with 15 Officers and Soldiers available to chat to visitors and answer any questions.

Royal Air Force

Visit the Royal Air Force Village to try out the simulators and chat to the Regular and Reserve RAF personnel. Find out about the great range of full-time and part-time career opportunities, including: Aircrew, Engineering, Firefighter, Logistics and People Operations. The Air Cadets will be there to tell you all about how to join and the many exciting activities they get involved with. Their display will include a selection of desk top simulators which visitors can have a try.
