Murray Group is proud to support Armed Forces Day at Plymouth Hoe on Saturday 27 June, joining the city in recognising the dedication, service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community, and the families and local networks who support them every day.
As a family-run automotive business with its Head Office in Millbay and sites across Plymouth, Brixton, Plympton, Crownhill and Ivybridge, Murray Group is proud to serve the communities where our customers and colleagues live and work. Supporting Armed Forces Day reflects our commitment to being an active part of local life and to standing alongside serving personnel, veterans, reservists and their families across the city and surrounding area.
For more than 25 years, Murray Group has employed local people across the region, including veterans and members of Armed Forces families in many areas of the business. We value the skills, resilience and professionalism they bring, and we are proud that veterans contribute across all areas of our business, including at management level, where they represent 20% of the team. Their contribution strengthens our business, supports our customers and deepens our connection with the communities we serve.
We also support future careers through apprenticeships and partnerships with local schools and colleges, helping young people in our area build skills, confidence and pathways into work. This reflects our wider commitment to the communities that stand behind Plymouth’s Armed Forces, including service families and young people looking ahead to their future. Our support for the Greenpower team at All Saints Academy is one example of how we encourage engineering and STEM opportunities for the next generation in Plymouth.
Armed Forces Day is an opportunity not only to celebrate those who serve, but also to recognise the families, colleagues and communities who support them. Murray Group is proud to stand alongside Plymouth’s Armed Forces community and to show that support through local employment, opportunities for young people and meaningful community partnership.
