We have put together important information to take note of ahead of Plymouth Armed Forces Day on Saturday 29 June. This includes the use of drones at the event, details of road closures, disabled parking and marine vessel movement.
DRONE FLIGHTS PROHIBITED OVER EVENT SITE
We are working with the Civil Aviation Authority and Police to stop illegal drone use. Anyone who operates a drone over the Plymouth Armed Forces Day site, Plymouth Hoe, will be reported for prosecution.
Any pilot of a drone wishing to operate MUST obtain specific permission for the flight from the Civil Aviation Authority and Event Organiser. Any unauthorised access of this site, including by drone, will be regarded as trespass.

ROAD CLOSURES The following road closures have been organised during the event:
7am to 7pm – Hoe Road from the Mound at the Citadel to the Junction of Madeira Road, with parking restricted throughout this time
7am to 7pm – Top of Osborne Place to the junction of the back of The Esplanade
5.30pm to 7pm – Citadel Road from the junction of Lockyer Street to the junction of Sussex Street, with parking restricted from 7am
5pm to 6.30pm – Madeira Road from the junction of Lambhey Hill in its entirety
5pm to 6.30pm – Hoe Road from the junction of Madeira Road to the junction of Pier Street
3pm to 6.30pm – Staddon Lane (From the junction of Staddon Heights golf cub to the junction of Jennycliff lane)
3pm to 6.30pm – Jennycliff Lane from its junction of Staddon Lane to Lalebrick Road
DISABLED PARKING
Disabled parking is available in Ballard House car park (West Hoe Road, PL1 3BJ) for approximately 50 car parking spaces for blue badge holders. A shuttle bus supplied by Citybus will operate between Ballard House and the Hoe from 8.30am to 7pm. Blue Badges must be displayed.

MARINE VESSEL MOVEMENT
In order to ensure the safety of the public during the air displays, there will be restrictions on movements of vessels in Plymouth Sound from 4.45pm to 6.05pm*.
The display area will be over Plymouth Sound south of the Hoe out to the breakwater. During the displays, vessels will need to be clear of Plymouth Sound. Access to and from the Sound, the Cattewater and King Point/Millbay will be prohibited.
Please follow instructions from the event marshalling craft.
QHM Plymouth will issue a Local Notice to Mariners with full details of the restrictions on 26 June in advance of the event.
A larger display area is required this year due to the participation of the Red Arrows Display Team.
